Welcome!

Welcome to EventPlanning.Today.com!  Here you will find all sorts of helpful hints to help you plan the event of your dreams.  As a professional event planner, I can offer you my expertise and creativity as well as respond to your comments and answer your questions.  So. please take the time to add to the “conversation” and ask your questions!  Your input will make this more enjoyable for both of us.

So, lets get started with a little background about me!  Growing up with a grandfather who was a professional chef and parents that were into crafts and creative arts led me naturally down the path of creative design and event design.  I was formally trained at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California where I received my degree in Home Economics with an emphasis in Interior Design.  While there I took all the course offerings in Floriculture and worked at the FlowerShop on campus.  So from these studies I gained a major portion of my design knowledge.   Soon after leaving Cal Poly, I started doing floral on a freelance basis and have now built a business 18 years strong.  The business has grown to include the floral along with rentals and overall event design.  It is my goal to provide my clients with the event as they imagine it while staying within their budget - and sometimes an event better than they imagined they could pull off!  I truly try to allow my clients to design things themselves, offering my talents to achieve their concepts.

It is my intention to explore all aspects of event design through this blog and offer as much advise and education as I can - from how to arrange the buffet, to where the salad fork should be placed, to how big does the dance floor need to be, to how much do I tip a minister, to where does the widow sit at the service, to how much does a bouncehouse cost, to what insurance will I need……

Thank you for spending this time with me, I hope you are a bit smarter than when you started and feel a little more confidant about planning an event of your own!
